Find the right Medicare health insurance plan for you
Whether you’re brand-new to selecting a plan or a seasoned pro, you’ve come to the right place. At Colorado Insurance Advisors, we have affordable Medicare plans. You’ll find plans with prescription drug and dental coverage along with hospital indemnity and Medicare supplement.
Medicare Advantage (Part C)
Medicare Advantage plans are some of our favorite plans to work with. Why? Because they offer so much for a client, but it isn’t without its limitations. Medicare Advantage plans are privately managed healthcare plans that combine Medicare Part A and B, and in some cases Part D (prescription drug coverage). Consider it an “all in one” plan. A common question we get is “why would I want a private insurance company to manage my Medicare benefits?” The answer is simple. Medicare Advantage plan providers are required to provide you equal or better coverage than traditional Medicare. What that means is that you get all the benefits of your Part A hospitalization coverage and all the benefits of your Part B general healthcare coverage, with (in most cases) prescription drug coverage (Part D). In addition, some plans provide coverage for things like dental, vision, holistic healthcare, gym memberships, and more! In some cases, there are no additional expense for selecting a Medicare Advantage plan above your required Part B monthly premium! In other cases, you may have a small out of pocket expense each month depending on the plan benefits. Normally, this monthly fee is far less than you would spend by purchasing a Medicare Supplement plan.
Medicare Prescription Drugs (Part D)
With prescriptions stacking up at an equal rate of the solicitation mail you are receiving, it’s a good thing they are so affordable.
Once you have enrolled in Medicare Parts A and B, you can add one of the Prescription Drug Plans. There are a variety of Medicare Prescription Drug Plans available to you and all vary in cost and coverage. To determine which one is right for you, contact us to compare these with you according to your specific prescriptions and budget.
Medicare Supplement
Medicare supplement policies have been providing millions of Medicare beneficiaries with great resources for decades. At Colorado Medicare Plans, we are committed to supporting clients with Medicare Supplement Plans that will cater to their needs beyond their standard insurance options through a high level of personal support.
Our team has performed a high-level analysis of the different Medicare Supplement Plans and the history that has shaped the way these plans are provided today. We have taken a look at what they cover, why they cover the things they cover, and how they are priced. It is important to understand what Medicare does not cover and how much you can afford to pay each year for your insurance.
The purpose of Medicare Supplement Plans is to cover the gap – the portion not paid by Medicare parts A and B. Medicare Supplement providers offer access to a range of different plans, but it is important to note that they have many features in common.
Dental Plans
Dental Plans That Meet Your Needs
Proper dental care is important to a person’s overall health. Your teeth and gums hold important clues to other health issues. Research shows that poor oral health can be a sign of heart disease, stroke, diabetes, dementia, cancer, and osteoporosis.
We offer dental insurance for all ages. With numerous provider options, these plans cover preventive and comprehensive care like regular cleanings, exams, X-rays, and procedures like fillings, crowns, bridges, implants, dentures, and root canals.
Hospital Indemnity Plans
A hospital stay can be expensive, and can happen at any time. Even with medical coverage, out-of-pocket expenses such as deductible costs, rehabilitation, and transportation can add up quickly. Prepare for the unexpected with a Hospital Indemnity Insurance policy. It provides a fixed benefit amount to help cover expenses, and you can decide how to use the money.
How can a Hospital Indemnity Insurance policy help me?
Hospital Indemnity Insurance helps provide additional financial support when you need it the most. After a hospitalization resulting from a covered injury or illness, you or someone you designate receives a fixed benefit amount. The Hospital Indemnity Insurance policy pays the specific fixed benefit dollar amount you selected when applying, regardless of the amount charged by providers. And, there are no restrictions on how you can spend the money.
Colorado State Medicaid
Colorado State Medicaid (Health First Colorado) coverage gives you 3 kinds of basic benefits: 1. Physical health benefits, 2. Dental benefits, 3. Behavioral health (mental health and substance use benefits). Medicaid benefits is usually determined by your income level, asset limits. There are plans for people who have both Medicare and Medicaid. These plans are called Dual SNP and gives extra help providing more benefits such as no-cost dental, vision, gym membership, chiropractic, acupuncture, OTC and food allowance while receiving $0 co-payments for medical services and $0 to low co-payments for prescription drugs.
Medicare Savings Program
Medicare Savings Programs (MSPs), also known as Medicare Buy-In programs or Medicare Premium Payment Programs, help pay your Medicare costs if you have limited income and savings. There are three main programs, each with different benefits and eligibility requirements.
Qualified Medicare Beneficiary (QMB): Pays for Medicare Parts A and B premiums. If you have QMB, typically you should not be billed for Medicare-covered services when seeing Medicare providers or providers in your Medicare Advantage Plan’s network.
Specified Low-income Medicare Beneficiary (SLMB): Pays for Medicare Part B premium.
Qualifying Individual (QI) Program: Pays for Medicare Part B premium.
To qualify for an MSP, you must have Medicare Part A and meet income and asset guidelines (note that these guidelines vary by state, and some states do not count assets when determining MSP eligibility). If you do not have Part A but meet QMB eligibility guidelines, your state may have a process to allow you to enroll in Part A and QMB. Many states allow this throughout the year, but others limit when you can enroll in Part A.
Remember, states use different rules to count your income and assets to determine if you are eligible for an MSP. Examples of income include wages and Social Security benefits you receive. Examples of assets include checking accounts and stocks. Certain income and assets may not count when determining your MSP eligibility. And some states do not have an asset limit.
If your income or assets seem to be above the MSP guidelines, you should still apply if you need the help.
LIS (Extra Help)
Low-Income Subsidy (also called “Extra Help”). Some people with limited resources and income may also be able to get Extra Help with the costs — monthly premiums, annual deductibles, and prescription co-payments — related to a Medicare prescription drug plan. The Extra Help is estimated to be worth about $5,100 per year. Many people qualify for these big savings and don’t even know it. To find out if you qualify, Social Security will need to know the value of your savings, investments, real estate (other than your home), and your income.
